Description
The annual PAT Bash will be held Sunday, March 14 at Margarita's
Cantina, 3109 E. Douglas. Doors open at 4:30, show starts at 5:00.
Tickets are $10.00 and available at the door.
The Pat Bash is
an annual musical celebration inspired by Wichita blues legend Pat
McJimsey to benefit the PAT (Performers Assistance Trust) Fund. The PAT
Fund was established after McJimsey's death to help uninsured or
under-insured Wichita area working musicians with medical and funeral
expenses.
There will be prize drawings as well as a live
auction of a guitar autographed by all the musicians playing at the
2010 Bash. A special set this year featuring McJimsey Band arrangements
includes a three piece horn section. The set will bring back fond
memories of the '80's when the Pat McJimsey Band was house band for
seven years at "My Brothers Place".
The music begins at 5:00
with the Marc Westerman and friends, followed by long-time Margarita's
house band, Lotus. Next up will be Rachelle Coba, who just returned
from Memphis where she represented Wichita at the International Blues
Challenge. Others slated to perform include the Drake Macy Band and
Jenny Detra with Good Cookin'.
Closing the evening is the
"Patapalooza" set, including the horn section of Joe Clements, Alan
Larimor, and Matt Koehn. Performing tunes McJimsey was known for will
be Coba, along with special guest vocalists Richard Collins, Sherry
Cowan, and Bob Hartley
